Detailed Itinerary
Arrive Bagdogra & Transfer to Gangtok
Arrive at Bagdogra Airport. Welcome on arrival. Transfer to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, situated at a height of 1670 meters (5480 feet). It is the most visited spot of India. Arrive and check into hotel. Evening free to roam around M.G. Road (Mall) or local shopping centre. Return to hotel. Overnight.
Gangtok – Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir Excursion
Morning breakfast. Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir. Visit Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft / 37 km / 2 hr from Gangtok), a high altitude sacred lake that derives its water from the melting snows of the surrounding mountains. Further, you will visit Baba Mandir (13,200 ft / 16 km / 1 hr from Tsomgo Lake). The shrine was made in memory of Sepoy Harbahajan Singh. Later return back to hotel. Overnight. (Note: Nathu La Pass to Republic of China is nearly 20 kilometers and is an optional tour at extra cost if permit is available.)
Gangtok Full Day City Tour
Morning breakfast. Full day city tour. Visit Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, Flower Show, Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre (closed on Sunday and 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month), Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sunday), Dro-dul Chorten, Gonjang Monastery and Bakthang Waterfalls. Return back to hotel. Overnight.
Gangtok to Pelling via Namchi Char Dham
Morning breakfast. Drive past through tea gardens and majestic mountains to reach Pelling. Enroute visit the sacred Namchi Char Dham which is home to a 108 feet tall statue of Lord Shiva and replicas of 12 Jyotirlingas. Next go to Samdruptse Hill to see the 118 feet, world's largest statue of the Buddhist Padmasambhava. This hill is called the wish-fulfilling hill. Continue your journey to Pelling. Arrive & check-in at hotel. Enjoy the fascinating views of Kanchenjunga. Evening time at leisure for independent activities. Overnight.
Pelling Sightseeing – Waterfalls, Lakes & Monasteries
Morning breakfast. Leave for the visit of Pelling. Visit Kanchenjunga Waterfalls with the beautiful surrounding greenery. Next visit the Sewaro Rock Garden with fountains, greenery, and serenity. Head to Darap Valley whose natural beauty will surely win your heart. Enjoy the picturesque views. Proceed further to explore Pema Yangtse Monastery, Helipad Ground, Rimbi Waterfalls, Khechecopai Sacred Lake and Rabdentse Ruins. Return back to hotel. Overnight.
Pelling to Darjeeling – The Queen of Hills
Morning breakfast. Transfer to Darjeeling (7100 ft), the Queen of Hills. Arrive & check in at hotel. Evening free to roam. Or enjoy the Toy Train ride (own expenses). Overnight at hotel.
Darjeeling – Tiger Hill Sunrise & Full Day Tour
Early morning wake up with tea/coffee at 4:00 AM. Visit Tiger Hill located at 8364 ft, famous for sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga. On way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Peace Memorial and Batasia Loop. Return back to hotel. Refresh & have your breakfast. Leave for a full day guided tour to Darjeeling. Visit the Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tenzing & Gombu Rock, Tibetans Refuge Centre (closed on Sunday) & Tea Estate. Rest of the day is free for shopping or of your own. Return to hotel. Overnight.
Darjeeling to Bagdogra & Departure
Morning breakfast. Drive to Bagdogra Airport to board the flight. Continue with your onward journey for next destination.
